Abel's gas station murder suspect pleads guilty, sentenced to 25 years

One of two men charged in the murder of a Hannibal Abel's gas station clerk pleaded guilty Wednesday to second degree murder charges.
Michael Studer, entered the plea Wednesday morning in Boone County Circuit Court.
Judge Gary Oxenhandler sentenced Studer to 25 years in prison. Studer was given credit for time served.
Studer and Gary Wiltermood were charged in the Oct. 8 shooting death of 61-year-old Adrienne Arnett.
The shooting occurred during a 3 a.m. robbery at the Abel's Shell Station at 100 Shinn Lane.
In a lengthy statement given to police, Wiltermood told Hannibal police investigators that he drove Studer to the gas station and participated in the robbery.
Wiltermood will be in court on July 7 in Boone County Circuit Court. A jury trial will begin on July 16.
