Runners turn out for long-time Quincy tradition

Runners turn out for Kelly's Fun Run in Quincy

The early morning snowfall didn't stop a long-time Quincy tradition Sunday.

The Kelly's 5k Fun Run/walk started at Kelly's and continued on a loop down Maine Street.

Runners competed in 15 divisions, each divided by age and gender.

The event has been happening for more than 30 years now.

Some participants have made it a family tradition.

Quincy firefighter Kevin Kickey has participated in the race for 10 years.

He said nothing would keep him from the race.

Very excited to run," he said. "We've run in this when it's been 80 degrees and we've run in this when there's been snow and rain and everything. Weather doesn't deter us.

All proceeds went to the YMCA Dolphins Swim Team.
