Local farmer plans weekend 'Fright Night' in corn field

An area farmer is preparing to get your scare on this weekend.
Edina farmer Bobby Huffman created the Huffman Corn Maze three years ago to address the lack of fall fun activities in the local area. Click here to learn more about how the corn maze started from Huffman during KHQA This Morning.
Now the expanded five acre maze includes an activity area with a corn pit, hay jump, straw house and rides. Click here for a tour of the Huffman Corn Maze Activity Area from KHQA This Morning.
This weekend the maze goes to the ghouls after dark to close out the season. Fright night is planned for Saturday, November 2 from 6 to 11 p.m. Click here to watch KHQA's Melissa Shriver at the spooky corn maze during KHQA This Morning.
But what might surprise you is that mazes like this aren't necessarily created with a design in mind.
"To tell you the truth, when the corn is about knee high I go out with a lawnmower and drive around," Huffman said. "I try to make it so that it's hard to find your way. And I think we've done pretty good at that."
Massive round straw bale figures have marked the entrance to the corn maze for years.

So far this year, more than a dozen nearby groups and schools have visited the corn maze during the 2013 season.
The Huffman Corn Maze is located five miles east of Edina.
