The pool that has been fighting to stay afloat will remain open ... at least for now.
Jackson-Lincoln Pool ran into financial troubles after making necessary renovations.
These renovations put the pool in debt, and in need of 20-thousand dollars.
Thanks to donations, the pool can remain open for at least the next few weeks.
Pool Manager Ben Bumbry said he hopes they can raise enough to remain open for the rest of the season.
"I'm just saying ... I don't have proof ... But I think that somehow the people of Quincy will see us through. I really believe that," Bumbry said.
On July 20th, Bumbry is holding a fundraiser at the pool from 12 to 6 p.m. and also at the Mark Twain Riverboat in Hannibal from 9 p.m. to midnight.
If you want to make a donation to keep this pool open, send your donations to P.O. Box 176, Quincy, Illinois. 62306.
