The 33rd Combat Team back at camp

Three thousand of the Illinois National Guard's 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team are heading to Afghanistan by the end of this month. Right now they're training in Fort Bragg, North Carolina preparing for their mission to train and mentor Afghan security forces as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. While they're not training, they're back at camp. KHQA's Melissa Shriver found out how they spend their time and how it brings them together.

Three thousand soldiers with the Illinois National Guard's 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team are training for deployment to Afghanistan.They leave for their mission at the end of this month. They've already spent two months away from home, training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Now they face ten months overseas. KHQA's Melissa Shriver had the chance last week to visit with them at Fort Bragg. There she learned what they miss the most.

Right now the Illinois National Guard's 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team of three thousand soldiers is wrapping up training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Officials say that training is always evolving as information is gathered, as does the gear they use to stay safe.
